About This Tool

What is the dark sky window?

The longest interval during astronomical night (sun below −18°) when the moon is also below the horizon. This is the prime time for deep-sky astrophotography.

Why location matters

Near the equator, twilight is short (~70 min) and the sun rises quickly. The dark window can be narrow near full moon — knowing its timing for your observer site is critical for planning.

Planning estimate

Times are computed from precise astronomical models (no weather). This tool currently labels clock times in America/Guyana (UTC−4). For full sky event planning, see Sky Events.
